First of all, great news: nothing that I've done, but I wanted to share with you that starting with the Obsidian mobile version 0.0.18, Excalidraw now works fantastic on the mobile device, so I encourage you to give it a try. This update includes some quality-of-life improvements and the major update with full templater support through Excalidraw Ultimate. So, let me just come here to my "Stuff" folder, and I'll just click "Create New Drawing," and with that, I have a new drawing that I can edit. If I come to my daily notes and bring up the command palette, I can choose "Embed," and here, I can choose this command. If I just click on this, then you see that the most recently updated drawing is automatically embedded, making it an easy way to do this. If I just open this drawing on the side and give this a title, "Diamond," you can see that the file name is automatically updated. Also, a great new feature is that as I draw here, if I unfocus this drawing, then the preview in the embedded documents automatically updates, making it easier to see the outcome of your drawing in your documents. If I create a new drawing and then close Obsidian, this drawing now gets properly saved. Previously, that was not the case. I've also fixed a positioning issue with the drawing when using the sliding panes plugin; again, it's more of a bug fix, but quite useful. If I click on this link and bring up that webpage, I have a detailed help or walkthrough of how to use it. I'm not going to walk you through all of the text here right now, but you can see that the basic logic of how this solution works is that you create or use the object Excalidraw Automate in your template, giving you a whole bunch of functions and styling control to create your drawing. The first one is an example that gives you control over the file name, the folder name, and the template path you want to use for a new drawing. So, let me come back to Obsidian and show you how this works. I have this template here called "Insert Template with Custom Naming," and this will create a folder with the year, month, and date. Actually, these are subfolders, and the file is going to be named based on the hour and the minute, using my "Template 1," which is this white template with a box in the middle. So, if I now execute this template using Templater, you can see that my file was created here with the desired file name and using this template. I think this is a very useful feature if you want to use multiple templates or go beyond what's available in settings. [* ](https://youtu.be/AtEhmHJjnxM?t=267) You can also do more complex examples. I'm not going to walk you through all the different examples you can go ahead and read about in the provided link, but I just want to show you this more complex example where I have this tabulated outline and a Templater script—the mind map builder—which converts this outline into a mind map. I think that is quite cool in terms of a feature and gives you significant control and flexibility in how you use Excalidraw. I am aware of some minor issues with the mobile version that I plan to address in the next update. There are issues with the stylus when you open the command palette during drawing on your mobile, and there's also an issue in terms of saving your drawing if you simply close the Obsidian task unexpectedly, as that causes the drawing not to save.
